Call for Presentations -- Fourth Annual ALA Symposium – 2018

Embracing Academic Citizenship

Event Date: April 24, 2018

Location(s): Moataz Al Alfi Hall

Symposium Description

The Academy of Liberal Arts (ALA) is proud to announce its Fourth Annual Symposium.  This years theme “Embracing Academic Citizenship” grew out of our sustained desire to build collaborative programs across the ALA between faculty and students. In its broadest sense, the ALA encompasses a creative, community-centered environment that seeks to address and implement the best teaching and collaborative practices which emerge from dialogues with all stakeholder groups. As academics, we all belong to several communities: our departments; our communities of practice; as well as our peer groups across national and international organizations.  As academic citizens, we are taking an active and participative role in each of these communities. Accordingly, we are requesting proposals for presentations that will serve to articulate the ALA’s core values and commitment to excellence.

Topics: We welcome proposals for oral and poster presentations that address the Symposium’s theme.
